Ammann Compaction Expert
ACE, the Ammann Compaction Expert, is an electronic measuring and control system for vibrating rollers. It automatically adjusts the amplitude and frequency to suit the characteristics of the ground, and the optimal roller speed is indicated.
The operating principle of ACE is that the compaction energy is automatically reduced as the bearing capacity of the ground increases. So areas with lower bearing capacity are compacted with a high effective amplitude, and very hard areas are compacted with a low effective amplitude.
The effective amplitude is automatically reduced or increased as the flyweights twist against one another in the vibration unit of the drum. The frequency is adjusted to the resonance of the ground. Each rolling pass always provides comprehensive compaction monitoring, so as to guarantee homogeneous ground bearing capacity.
The ACE system is installed in the front or rear drum unit of the vibrating roller. The vibration of the other drum is automatically switched on and off according to the setting for the ACE drum unit
