In order to build and strengthen a high-performing HSEQ culture right across the company, Paul works alongside the managers, employees, customers and suppliers to ensure our procedures are the best they can be.
This includes managing the independent certification process, auditing, working with the sales team to get the right HSEQ information to customers, incident investigations and integral learning, along with continual development.
“My background is in HSEQ management – I’ve worked for over 25 years in senior HSEQ management roles in the construction, engineering, and professional services areas. I’ve also worked in industrial relations management and managing regional operations.”
“I graduated with an Honours degree from the University of Sydney, focusing on industrial relations, and I also hold an Advanced Diploma in OHS and auditing qualifications”.
What does a typical day look like for Paul?
“On a typical day, I need to keep on top of, and continually look forward to, the critical issues to support the business. This means continually identifying and managing any and all HSEQ risks. And the best way to do this is through constant communication.”
“I keep in touch with managers and employees in every Branch across Australia so I can understand their issues and the issues raised by customers. I stay informed of international and national industry and legal HSEQ developments, and keep the company aware of opportunities and risks.”
How is Paul and his team looking towards the future?
“We’re looking to further strengthen our safety culture and increase efficiency wherever we can. We’re always looking to see how we can do things more safely, more efficiently and more sustainability to benefit our team and our customers”.
“I am keen to continue working with our managers and employees to improve our workplaces, our machines, our transport and our services by making them even more safe and sustainable”.
